  Vesak day, also known as Buddha Purnima or Buddha Jayanti, is one of the most important festivals in Buddhism. It is celebrated by Buddhists around the world to commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of the Buddha. The festival falls on the full moon day in the month of May, and it is a time of great joy, reflection, and devotion for the followers of Buddhism. The Sadhanagiri Buddha Vihar in New Jognasury (Damdep), located in the Chakma Autonomous District Council, Mizoram, India is one of the many places where Vesak day is celebrated with great enthusiasm. On May 5th, 2023, the monastery held a grand ceremony to mark the occasion, which was attended by more than 200 followers. The celebration began with a colorful rally, which started from the Bazar shed and ended at the Sadhanagiri Buddha Vihar. Areal view of   Kawlchaw Bridge over Chhimtuipui aka Kaladan River. On the 11th of February 2022, my wife and I embarked on an exhilarating bike ride to Kawlchaw Bridge  in  Mizoram . With excitement in our hearts, embarking on an adventure together. The 35-kilometre journey from  Lawngtlai  to Kawlchaw Bridge was filled with joy and shared moments. Riding along with my wife, we enjoyed the scenic landscapes and the feeling of freedom that bike riding brings. The bond between us grew stronger as we conquered each kilometre together. Reaching Kawlchaw Bridge, we marveled at its magnificence and the breathtaking views it offered. The Kaladan River flowing beneath the bridge created a picturesque setting that left us in awe. But we wanted to experience the river up close. We carefully made our way down to the riverbank and found a serene spot.
